Interview with a Designer

This week is all about our Designers! Today is Rachael Bosman, one of our Principal Designers and Owners. Have fun learning 10 random things about Rachael and what inspires her!
Q. What is your favorite room to remodel/redecorate?
A. Kitchens! Full remodels are the best, trying to find ways to make the space work with the existing walls and windows. I love floor planning too! The finishes that go into kitchens are some of my favorite to select with clients.
Q. Any current trends you are loving?
A. Warm tones. We spent so many years trying to create spaces that don’t always work for everyone, with white and gray everything. There’s a place for balance and that involves a great wood floor, neutral wall colors and leather accents!
Q. Favorite color?
A. Is black technically a color? Haha! Most of my wardrobe is comprised of black, with accents of white and beige. I do love a good blue or green too, used as a neutral!
Q. What are you thankful for today?
A. Heat. Electricity. Warm, dry clothes. This winter is a mess and I am thankful daily for these things when others in our country are struggling.
Q. Describe your style in 3 words…
A. Simple. Classic. Evolving.
Q. If everything in your house had to be one color, what would it be?
A. Ooh, I hate to admit it but probably white. I can clean white. I can maintain white. I can match whites. I like things simple and clean!
Q. What’s your Starbucks order?
A. Grande hot chai, coconut milk, only two pumps of chai
Q. What are you currently working on?
A. I bought my first DSLR camera! There is so much to learn. Right now I’m mostly reading but I am ready to get some hands-on learning going, so hopefully you will see some of that come through in my personal life and at Collective Interiors!
Q. If you had a warning label, what would it say?
A. Warning: will force you to do karaoke in basement
Q. One random fact about you?
A. I hate coffee. Ew. The smell. The taste. Give me all the tea, twice a day!
